October 31th 2007, KAMERA CLOSES MOBILE CONTENT DEAL WITH CHINESE AGGREGATOR 1MP, reaching over 50 million potential viewers.
Mobile content specialist Kamera has increased its market penetration in China, by closing a major distribution deal with Chinese aggregator 1MP.

From 1st November 2007, Kamera’s entertainment news channel WOW! TV, sports service Sportcall and comedy channel Vidiots will all be available in China.

China is the world’s largest mobile market with over 600 million subscribers. Today, rich media services are consumed by over 50 million active mobile users.

Kamera’s content will be accessible on carrier portal decks as well as off portal deck and be fully localized, by 1MP, to suit Chinese consumption behavior and market environment.

Henrik Pratje, General Manager of 1MP, commented, ’We are delighted to be partnering with Kamera in China. The three channels are attractive because the content is produced specifically for the mobile market. There is a big demand for time sensitive celebrity-driven content in China, comedy is always a winner and likewise sport has universal appeal.’

Henrik Eklund, CEO Kamera added, ‘We are very excited to be working with 1MP in China and delighted to boost our audience reach in this important market. By offering quality content that is translated and tailored to the local market we hope to attract a loyal audience.’

In addition to Vidiots, which features over 6,000 funny home video bloopers, Kamera works with the The Associated Press, Disney-ABC and Sportfive to produce, package and distribute online and mobile video channels carried by over 80 web sites and mobile operators worldwide.
